Work > Suffragettes
Fascinated by the threads connecting social history and art history, Liz spent much of 2018 exploring the theme of the Suffragette movement within her work to celebrate the centenary of women first gaining the vote in Britain.
Female suffrage was first granted in Australia in 1895. As a proud Australian woman, Liz was interested in this area of social history where her native country was so far ahead of her adopted home. She loved the colours that came to represent the Suffragettes and decided to base her palette for these works around them.
This collection features contemporary jewellery and accessories as well as trays and a postcard, all made using glass and precious metals.
