Work > Copper inlay fused within glass

More than a millennium ago, Vikings used long pieces of silver and gold wire to weave ropes which were then stretched and made into jewellery for famous and powerful leaders. This technique is referred to as Viking knitting and thanks to a long-held fascination with the Winchester Hoard, has informed some of Liz’s artwork.

Liz has created a striking sequence using copper inlay work fused within glass. Some of the pieces take direct inspiration from Viking knitting, notably the handbag featured.
